PHNOM PENH, Mar. 18, 2026 (KPT) — Olam Food Ingredients (OFI) is exploring new investment opportunities in Cambodia’s agro-processing industry, with a particular focus on cashew nuts and other high-potential crops, officials said Tuesday.

Gaurav Patil, Senior Vice President and Country Head of OFI in Vietnam, led a delegation to meet with Commerce Minister Cham Nimul to discuss cooperation in strengthening Cambodia’s cashew value chain.

Patil said OFI — a subsidiary of Singapore-based Olam Group, which operates in more than 60 countries — sees strong potential in Cambodia’s agro-processing sector. Cashew nuts are a priority, he noted, alongside mango, durian and pineapple.

He added that Cambodia’s stable economic and political environment makes it an attractive destination for investment, and said OFI is considering expanding its cashew processing operations while deepening collaboration with the Ministry of Commerce.

Patil also proposed exploring mechanisms to support more diversified processing of Cambodia’s agricultural products.

Minister Nimul welcomed the company’s interest and praised its confidence in Cambodia’s investment climate. Both sides agreed to continue close cooperation to further develop the cashew sector and unlock opportunities in other crops.

OFI has been present in Cambodia since 2017 through Olam Outspan (Cambodia), focusing on cashew processing and other agro-industrial activities.
