Two Financial Institutions Partner to Expand Cross-Border Payments in Line with NBC Agenda
PHNOM PENH, April 3, 2026 (KPT) – Two financial institutions have joined hands to push forward cross-border payment services, reinforcing the National Bank of Cambodia’s (NBC) wider drive for regional financial connectivity.

On April 1, ACLEDA Bank Plc. and Mastercard have announced a collaboration to strengthen Cambodia’s cross-border payment services, integrating Mastercard Move into the ACLEDA Super App.
The partnership enables individuals and small businesses to send money internationally with faster processing and near real-time settlement, reducing friction and enhancing security. Initial coverage includes Vietnam, Indonesia, China, India, Japan, South Korea, the United Kingdom and European countries under SEPA, with further expansion planned.

“ACLEDA Bank is delighted to collaborate with Mastercard to make it easier and more affordable for Cambodians to connect with the world,” said Group Chief Operations Officer Sok Sophea. Mastercard Country Manager Sharad Jain added that the partnership combines Mastercard’s global reach with ACLEDA’s trusted local presence to deliver transparent and predictable international payment experiences.
The announcement comes just days after NBC and Singaporean company launched the second phase of their KHQR–SGQR interoperability project, allowing Singaporean visitors to pay directly at Cambodian merchants by scanning KHQR codes. The twin initiatives highlight Cambodia’s progress in digital banking, reinforcing ASEAN integration goals and strengthening confidence in the country’s financial system.
