CCF Tightens Consumer Protection Measures Ahead of Khmer New Year Festivities
PHNOM PENH, April 7, 2026 (KPT) – Cambodia’s Consumer Protection, Competition and Fraud Repression Directorate-General (CCF) is stepping up measures ahead of the Khmer New Year, urging businesses to uphold fair practices, ensure product safety and maintain transparent pricing during the peak holiday period, the Ministry of Commerce said Tuesday.
The directive targets companies, traders and service providers across sectors, including fuel. Officials stressed that businesses must adhere to honest competition in advertising, promotions and discount campaigns, while avoiding misleading practices such as counterfeit branding or improper labeling.

CCF warned against unjustified price increases that could harm consumers during the festive season. Food safety was highlighted as a priority, with businesses required to follow strict hygiene standards in production, packaging, transport and retail.
All goods and services must display clear pricing in Cambodian riel, reinforcing the use of the national currency.
CCF encouraged businesses and the public to report suspected irregularities, saying the move reflects Cambodia’s broader push to safeguard consumer interests and maintain market stability during one of the country’s busiest holidays.
