KAMPOT, April 30, 2026 (KPT) — Limited coordination, resource constraints and data gaps are among the key challenges Cambodia is moving to address as it reviews progress under Phase I of its Pentagonal Strategy, officials said Wednesday.

Deputy Prime Minister Vongsey Vissoth chaired a two day retreat in Kampot province to consult on the draft 2025 monitoring and evaluation report, stressing the need for stronger collaboration and evidence based policymaking.

Participants from government, development partners and the private sector acknowledged achievements in economic growth, social protection, education, health and investment, but warned that capacity limitations and incomplete indicators risk undermining accurate performance measurement.

Vissoth urged ministries and stakeholders to refine the report and strengthen implementation, noting external risks such as global instability, rising oil prices linked to Middle East conflicts and ongoing border tensions.

The finalized report will guide policy direction in the coming years, helping Cambodia build resilience and sustain growth amid mounting global uncertainty.
