Cambodia Showcases Green Season Tourism at EU Campaign Launch
PHNOM PENH, May 18, 2026 (KPT) — Cambodia promoted its green season tourism potential at the launch of the “EU – Here with You” campaign, highlighting cultural heritage, eco‑tourism attractions and hospitality as drivers of sustainable growth, officials said Friday.
The event at Chaktomuk Walk Street brought together Tourism Minister Huot Hak, EU Ambassador Igor Driesmans, Phnom Penh municipal representatives, government institutions, development partners and members of the public.

Organizers said the campaign underscored the partnership between Cambodia and the European Union while promoting cooperation in youth engagement, cultural exchange, tourism, arts and creative industries.
Hak described tourism as a priority sector under the government’s Pentagonal Strategy Phase I, stressing Cambodia’s appeal as a safe and welcoming destination with cultural, historical and natural assets. He urged domestic and international visitors to explore the kingdom during the May–October green season, citing waterfalls, forests and eco‑tourism sites.
The ministry promoted the slogan “6 Musts,” encouraging travelers to enjoy natural scenery, eco‑friendly stays, seasonal foods, heritage sites, outdoor adventures and local handicrafts. Officials said Angkor Archaeological Park, Mondulkiri and Ratanakiri remain key attractions during the rainy season.
