CDC Reaffirms Support for Pengbo Group’s Expansion Plans in Cambodia
PHNOM PENH, May 20, 2026 (KPT) — Cambodia’s investment authority has reaffirmed strong support for Pengbo Group’s expansion plans as the government steps up efforts to attract foreign capital and bolster economic growth, officials said Tuesday.
Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol, First Vice Chairman of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), met Pengbo Group CEO Liu Peng and his delegation to review the company’s ongoing projects and future investment strategy.

Liu Peng reported that operations in Cambodia were progressing smoothly, while Chanthol praised the firm’s investment decisions, saying they contribute positively to socio‑economic development. He stressed that the private sector is a key engine of growth and reaffirmed the CDC’s commitment to providing facilitation and support services to ensure investors can operate efficiently.
Chanthol also underscored the importance of environmental protection and sustainable development, urging investors to preserve and improve the environment in areas where they operate. Liu Peng pledged full compliance with Cambodia’s environmental policies, prioritizing sustainability and responsible practices.
Both sides concluded by reaffirming cooperation to advance future projects supporting job creation and Cambodia’s long‑term growth.
