Siem Reap Hosts 500‑Strong Indian Delegation, Boosting Cambodia’s MICE Tourism Ambitions

SIEM REAP, June 23, 2026 (KPT) — Siem Reap has welcomed more than 500 delegates from India as part of a major corporate incentive trip, underscoring Cambodia’s growing appeal as a Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) destination, the Cambodia Tourism Board said Tuesday.

The seven‑day program, held in May, was organized for MSP Steel & Power Limited, one of India’s leading steel companies. Arranged by Asian Trails Cambodia in partnership with Thomas Cook India and supported by CTB, the event brought top‑performing dealers and business partners to Siem Reap for gala dinners, networking events and cultural experiences.

Delegates visited the Angkor Archaeological Park and joined activities including zipline adventures, quad bike excursions and artisan workshops. Organizers said the successful management of a group of more than 500 participants demonstrated Cambodia’s readiness to host large‑scale incentive travel programs.

“This MICE event confirmed Cambodia’s strong potential as a destination for future corporate groups, particularly from India,” an Asian Trails representative said.

CTB chief executive Kim Minea pointed to investments in infrastructure, including the US$1.1 billion Siem Reap‑Angkor International Airport, US$150 million in road upgrades, and world‑class hotels and venues. He said Cambodia has capacity to host major international events but noted further expansion of convention facilities would strengthen competitiveness.

Siem Reap has recently hosted the World Conference of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts and the Olave Baden‑Powell Society annual event, while Phnom Penh prepares for the 20th Francophonie Summit later this year. Officials said such gatherings highlight Cambodia’s rising profile as a venue for global conferences and high‑value tourism.
