PHNOM PENH, Mar. 4 (KPT) – Cambodia has urged its citizens and students in the Middle East to remain vigilant as regional tensions escalate.

Government spokesperson Pen Bona said Cambodian embassies covering the region have been instructed to provide safety guidance and emergency contacts.

The embassy in Israel, based in Ankara, warned of rising military tensions between Israel and Iran and urged citizens to follow local instructions. Consular assistance is available via dedicated hotlines and messaging apps.

Embassies in Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Bahrain also advised caution, with contact details provided for Cambodian nationals.

Officials said there are currently 239 Cambodian students in Israel and 27 in Kuwait, alongside workers and travellers in other countries.

Bona confirmed that Prime Minister Hun Manet and National Assembly President Hun Sen are closely monitoring developments, with all citizens reported safe under embassy supervision.

In a statement issued February 28, the foreign ministry called on all parties to exercise maximum restraint following Israeli–U.S. strikes against targets in Iran, warning against further escalation and expressing “deep concern” over civilian safety.
