Sokhonn to Address UN Rights Council, Bolster Cambodia–US and Europe Ties During PM’s Overseas Mission
PHNOM PENH, 15 February 2026 (KPT) – Cambodia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn will address the 61st session of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva next week, as part of an overseas mission accompanying Prime Minister Hun Manet to the United States and Europe, officials said Saturday.
Sokhonn is expected to present Cambodia’s perspectives on human rights and engage in dialogue with foreign counterparts, reaffirming Phnom Penh’s commitment to multilateral cooperation.

He will also pay a working visit to Switzerland before traveling to Paris for talks with French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot, with discussions set to focus on strengthening bilateral ties and expanding cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
Meanwhile, Hun Manet will lead a high-level delegation to a meeting on February 19 at the United States Institute of Peace in Washington. The gathering marks the formal launch of the Board’s mandate under a UN Security Council resolution adopted in November 2025, aimed at promoting peace and supporting reconstruction efforts in Gaza. Leaders are also expected to discuss broader issues of regional and global stability.
During his stay in Washington, the Cambodian premier is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with US officials and other international leaders to deepen diplomatic and economic cooperation.
