PHNOM PENH, Feb 9, 2026 (KPT) — Cambodia has deported 312 Chinese nationals linked to online scam operations, officials said Monday, in the latest move of a sweeping campaign against cybercrime.

The group was expelled Sunday on a special flight from Techo International Airport after investigations confirmed their involvement in online fraud, the General Department of Immigration said.

Interior Ministry officials directed the operation, coordinating with the Chinese Embassy to process the removals in line with legal procedures. Immigration chief Sok Veasna said the crackdown reflects the government’s determination to enforce the law, dismantle criminal networks and protect victims lured into scam activities.

Authorities have intensified nationwide raids against technology-based crime. In January alone, nearly 200 sites were raided and more than 2,500 suspects detained, including nationals from China, Nepal, Malaysia, Laos, India, Pakistan and Bangladesh.

Police reported 2,508 arrests, with several major networks dismantled and ringleaders sent to court. In 2025, Cambodia deported 2,722 foreigners tied to online scams, including alleged kingpin Chen Zhi.

Officials said the campaign will continue without exception, part of broader efforts to strengthen law enforcement, combat trafficking and restore public confidence in security and order.
