Cambodia, Vietnam and Laos Hold Trilateral Party Summit in Phnom Penh

PHNOM PENH, Feb 6, 2026 (KPT) — Leaders of Cambodia, Vietnam and Laos convened a series of high level party meetings in Phnom Penh on Friday aimed at strengthening cooperation and regional ties.

The trilateral summit took place at the January 7 Palace, headquarters of the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP), and was chaired by CPP President and Senate President Samdech Techo Hun Sen,

Vietnamese Communist Party General Secretary To Lam, and Lao People’s Revolutionary Party General Secretary Thongloun Sisoulith. Prime ministers, national assembly leaders and senior officials from all three countries also attended.

According to the CPP, the agenda included bilateral meetings between the CPP Standing Committee and the Vietnamese Communist Party Politburo, led by Samdech Techo Hun Sen and To Lam, and between the CPP Standing Committee and the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party Politburo, led by Hun Sen and Sisoulith.

The day concluded with a trilateral summit involving the top leadership of all three parties.

The CPP said the meetings aimed to reinforce traditional friendship, solidarity and cooperation while addressing shared regional challenges.

Discussions were guided by principles of mutual respect for independence, sovereignty, peace and sustainable development, and intended to support regional and global stability and prosperity.
