Cambodia Deports Over 1,000 Foreigners in Scam Crackdown
PHNOM PENH, Feb 4, 2026 (KPT) — Cambodia has deported more than 1,000 foreign nationals in less than a week as authorities intensify a nationwide crackdown on illegal stay, unlawful work and online scam operations, officials said Tuesday.
The latest deportation on February 3 involved 428 foreigners of eight nationalities, including 401 Chinese citizens, alongside nationals of Indonesia, Bangladesh, Korea, Pakistan, Uganda, Nigeria and India. They departed through Techo International Airport.

This brings the total number of deportations to 1,009 within a week, following the removal of 175 Vietnamese nationals on February 1 and 406 foreigners of nine nationalities on January 31.
Authorities said the actions are part of a campaign to dismantle foreign run scam networks and enforce immigration laws more strictly. The moves came after a January 31 police raid at the Wan Cheng Casino compound in Svay Rieng province, where 2,044 foreign suspects were detained across 22 buildings.
Immigration data show Cambodia deported more than 13,000 foreigners of 66 nationalities in 2025 for legal violations, many linked to online fraud. Officials said investigations, arrests and deportations will continue as the crackdown intensifies.
