PHNOM PENH, Cambodia (Nov. 28, 2025) — Cambodia’s cruise tourism revival gained fresh momentum as the Dutch liner Westerdam returned to Sihanoukville Autonomous Port, bringing nearly 2,000 international visitors in a strong sign of renewed global confidence in the country’s tourism sector.

The 285-meter vessel docked safely with 1,896 passengers from 42 nationalities and 800 crew members, marking another significant stop in its regional itinerary. Under the guidance of Tourism Minister Hout Hak, provincial officials welcomed the visitors and showcased Sihanoukville’s key attractions to enhance their travel experience.

Officials noted that the repeated arrival of major cruise ships demonstrates the recovery of Cambodia’s tourism industry, strengthened security and hospitality standards, and growing international interest in Sihanoukville as a coastal gateway.

The Westerdam’s return adds to the positive outlook for Cambodia’s tourism sector as the country continues to attract larger vessels and rising numbers of international travelers.
