PHNOM PENH, Cambodia (Nov.10, 2025) — Cambodia and South Korea have agreed to strengthen and expand their partnership across multiple sectors following a meeting between Prime Minister Hun Manet and South Korean Foreign Minister Cho Hyun at the Peace Palace on Nov. 10.

During the talks, Cho thanked Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet for the warm welcome and praised the “remarkable progress” in bilateral relations in recent years. Samdech Thipadei expressed appreciation for South Korea’s continued support for Cambodia’s post-war recovery and socio-economic development, calling the visit “a driving force to further deepen and expand cooperation.”

The two sides discussed enhancing collaboration in trade, investment, defense, security, industry, and the development of special economic zones for Korean enterprises in Cambodia. They also agreed to promote people-to-people exchanges and boost tourism.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet thanked South Korea for its care and hospitality toward Cambodian nationals living and working in the country, and assured that the safety and welfare of Korean citizens in Cambodia remain a top priority.

Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to building a closer and more comprehensive partnership, emphasizing that stronger ties would bring mutual benefits to both nations.

Cambodia and South Korea established diplomatic relations in 1997. Seoul is now one of Cambodia’s major investors, particularly in infrastructure, education, and technology.
