PHNOM PENH, Cambodia (Oct.22, 2025) — Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol and Maxim Behar, president of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce, voiced optimism Tuesday about strengthening cooperation between their countries, particularly in the area of investment.
The remarks came after a courtesy and working meeting, according to the Council for the Development of Cambodia. Officials said the meeting focused on Cambodia’s current business, trade and investment climate, and explored opportunities to enhance bilateral cooperation.
Behar thanked Chanthol for the opportunity to hold direct talks and praised the Cambodian government’s openness to foreign direct investment. He said he would share his impressions and insights from the visit with Bulgaria’s prime minister upon returning home.
Chanthol, who also serves as first vice-chairman of the CDC, welcomed Behar’s interest and outlined Cambodia’s investment policies. He emphasized the government’s commitment to promoting foreign investment, economic diversification and private sector engagement.
