PHNOM PENH, Cambodia (Oct.13, 2025) — The Royal Thai Provincial Police has requested a postponement of a bilateral meeting with Cambodian authorities that was scheduled for Oct. 13 in Kamrieng district, Battambang province, according to the General Commissariat of the National Police of Cambodia.

The meeting was part of ongoing cooperation stemming from the Sept. 10 Special General Border Committee meeting, during which both sides agreed to form a joint working group to draft an action plan targeting transnational crimes, including cyber fraud and human trafficking.

The first meeting was held as planned on Sept. 16 in Sa Kaeo province, Thailand. At that session, both parties agreed to convene again on Sept. 26 in Cambodia to review a draft action plan prepared by the Cambodian side. Thai authorities later requested a postponement of that meeting.

Cambodian officials continued to engage with their Thai counterparts through formal and informal channels to uphold the commitments made in September. Both sides agreed to reschedule the second meeting for Oct. 13.

However, on Oct. 11, the Cambodian police received another notification from the Thai side requesting a further delay, again without proposing a new date.
