Cambodian PM meets Malaysian parliamentary delegation to strengthen bilateral ties
PHNOM PENH, Cambodia (Oct.02, 2025) — Prime Minister Hun Manet met Thursday with a delegation from Malaysia’s Parliamentary Friendship for World Peace (PFWP), reaffirming Cambodia’s commitment to strengthening inter-parliamentary and bilateral cooperation with Malaysia.

The delegation, led by Malaysian Senator Mohd Hatta, was received at the Peace Palace in Phnom Penh. Discussions focused on expanding collaboration in politics, trade, defense, and people-to-people exchanges between the two Southeast Asian nations.
Hatta thanked Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet for the warm reception and praised Cambodia’s development progress. He also acknowledged Cambodia’s active participation in the 46th ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA), recently held in Malaysia.
He expressed confidence that the visit would deepen parliamentary cooperation and mutual understanding between the two countries.
Prime Minister Hun Manet welcomed the delegation and emphasized the importance of frequent legislative exchanges as a foundation for stronger diplomatic and economic ties.
He highlighted the growing partnership between Cambodia and Malaysia across multiple sectors.
Samdech Thipadie also extended his appreciation to Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim for his government’s role in mediating a ceasefire between Cambodia and Thailand, and for leading the International Observer Team monitoring the agreement along the shared border.
The meeting underscored ongoing efforts by both governments to expand cooperation at both legislative and executive levels, reinforcing regional stability and shared development goals.
