Second Cambodia–Thailand Police Meeting Postponed
PHNOM PENH, Cambodia (Sept.25, 2025) — The second meeting between the Cambodian National Police and a Thai delegation, originally scheduled for Sept. 26 in Cambodia, has been postponed indefinitely, officials confirmed Wednesday.
The meeting was set to finalize a draft bilateral action plan aimed at combating transnational crimes, including cyber fraud and human trafficking. The postponement was confirmed by Deputy Commissioner General Sieng Thearith, who leads the Cambodian delegation.
Cambodian authorities said they are awaiting an official notification from Thailand regarding a new date.
During the first meeting on Sept. 16, both sides agreed to hold a follow-up session in Cambodia to advance cooperation on cross-border crime prevention.
Cambodian officials said all preparations had been completed, including diplomatic coordination, formal invitations, and venue arrangements.
However, on Sept. 24, the Thai side informally notified Cambodian authorities of the delay through the Thai Police Liaison Officer at the Thai Embassy in Phnom Penh. No reason for the postponement has been publicly disclosed.
