National Assembly President to Attend 46th AIPA General Assembly in Malaysia
PHNOM PENH, Cambodia (Sept. 10, 2025) — Samdech Khuon Sudary, president of Cambodia’s National Assembly, will lead a high-level parliamentary delegation to the 46th General Assembly of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA), scheduled to take place Sept. 16–21 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Her participation follows an official invitation from Tan Sri Dato Johari Bin Abdul, speaker of the Malaysian Parliament and president of the 46th AIPA General Assembly.
The assembly, hosted by the Malaysian Parliament, will convene under the theme “Parliamentary Leadership for a Sustainable and Resilient ASEAN.”
According to a statement from the National Assembly, Khuon Sudary will attend several key meetings, including the Executive Committee Meeting, which sets the agenda and procedures for the assembly, as well as discussions and adoption of resolutions from the AIPA Secretariat.
She is also scheduled to deliver a keynote address at the 2nd Women Parliamentarians of AIPA (WAIPA) Forum and give an intervention speech during the 1st Plenary Session of the General Assembly.
Other members of the Cambodian delegation will participate in various committee meetings, including those of WAIPA, the Political Committee, Economic Committee, Social Committee, General Committee, and the Young Parliamentarians of AIPA (YPA). Delegates will also engage in dialogues with representatives from approximately 16 observer parliaments.
While in Kuala Lumpur, Khuon Sudary is expected to hold bilateral meetings with parliamentary leaders from AIPA member states, observer parliaments, and development partners. These meetings aim to strengthen cooperation and deepen Cambodia’s ties with the international community, with a focus on promoting the interests and well-being of the people.
