Cambodia Says Nationals Safe as Middle East Conflict Escalates
PHNOM PENH, March 11, 2026 (KPT) — Cambodia’s foreign ministry said Tuesday it is closely tracking the conflict in the Middle East and has moved to safeguard nearly 600 nationals living in the region.
In a statement, the ministry said embassies had been instructed to stay in regular contact with host authorities and Cambodian citizens, including students, to assess their well-being and provide assistance if needed.
Diplomatic missions reported that 595 Cambodians remain safe. The ministry urged nationals in Israel, Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain to follow local security guidance.
Officials said consular support is available through Cambodian embassies in Türkiye, Kuwait and Egypt, as well as the ministry’s consular department in Phnom Penh.
The ministry stressed it would continue monitoring developments and “remain ready to provide support” should conditions worsen.
