Cambodia Simplifies Business Registration to Boost Trade, Exports
PHNOM PENH, Jan 28, 2026 (KPT) — Cambodia is moving to cut red tape for businesses as part of efforts to strengthen domestic trade and sharpen export competitiveness, Commerce Minister Cham Nimul said Tuesday.
Speaking at a seminar on domestic trade and exports organized by the International Chamber of Commerce, Nimul outlined reforms aimed at modernizing and simplifying procedures to create a more supportive environment for enterprises and investors.

The event brought together representatives from national and international companies, investors and private sector stakeholders to discuss evolving trade and investment conditions in Cambodia and abroad.
Nimul stressed the private sector’s role in driving growth, saying government reforms are designed to make it easier for businesses to operate, expand and access markets.
Among the measures is a new proclamation simplifying company registration, modernizing the payment of public service fees through digital systems and waiving penalties for late submission of annual declarations — steps intended to reduce compliance burdens and improve ease of doing business.
She also highlighted the need to strengthen supply and value chains to promote domestic trade while supporting exporters in reaching wider markets, urging private sector representatives to contribute ideas to help shape future policy.
