French Firms Seek Clarity on Cambodia’s Commercial Laws as Interest Grows

PARIS, Jan 24, 2026 (KPT) — Representatives of six major French companies have voiced interest in gaining a clearer understanding of Cambodia’s commercial laws and regulatory framework during talks with the country’s Minister of Commerce in Paris.

Cham Nimul, Minister of Commerce, met with François Corbin, Vice President of MEDEF International, and the French business delegation to present Cambodia’s trade and investment potential and explore opportunities for expanding operations.

The French executives highlighted their ambition to grow their presence in Cambodia, noting the country’s economic progress while stressing the need for greater clarity on existing laws and regulations to guide investment decisions.

In response, Nimul outlined the government’s efforts to develop all sectors and reaffirmed the ministry’s readiness to facilitate trade and support foreign investors.
