PHNOM PENH, Cambodia (Dec. 25, 2025) — Cambodia’s Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training and the country’s garment industry association (TAFTAC) have jointly condemned what they called repeated violations by Thailand of a Trump-backed peace accord, accusing Thai forces of indiscriminate attacks on civilian communities along the border.

In statements issued Wednesday, the ministry said Thai military operations between Dec. 7 and Dec. 24 involved the use of light and heavy weapons without regard for civilian targets, causing injuries, destroying homes and forcing students, children, the elderly and families to flee for safety.

Officials said Thailand has repeatedly breached the ceasefire agreement and the joint peace statement signed earlier this year by the prime ministers of both countries in the presence of U.S. President Donald Trump and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, who currently chairs ASEAN.

The ministry urged the international community to condemn the violations, press Thailand to take responsibility and demand an immediate halt to hostilities.

The condemnation was echoed by the Textile, Apparel, Footwear & Travel Goods Association of Cambodia (TAFTAC), which said Thai forces continued firing and bombing civilian areas through Dec. 25, threatening the safety of Cambodia’s manufacturing workforce. TAFTAC called on Thailand to respect the ceasefire, uphold international law and return to negotiations for a lasting solution.
