PHNOM PENH, Cambodia (Dec. 1, 2025) — More than 3,000 cyclists joined the “Pedal for the Planet, Cycle for Tomorrow 2025” event in Phnom Penh, underscoring public support for environmental protection and Cambodia’s partnership with the European Union.

Deputy Prime Minister and Education Minister Hangchuon Naron and EU Ambassador Igor Driesmans took part in the ride, highlighting the shared commitment to sustainability and youth engagement.

Organized by the EU Delegation in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports and the Phnom Penh Municipal Hall, the event promoted plastic reduction, clean habits and community involvement in environmental action.

The ministry said the strong turnout reflected rising awareness among young people and the public, adding that such initiatives strengthen cooperation and inspire broader participation in building a cleaner, more sustainable Cambodia.
