Cambodian Prime Minister Visits Victims of Prey Chan Shooting

PHNOM PENH, Cambodia (Nov. 14, 2025) — Prime Minister Hun Manet on Friday visited three Cambodian civilians wounded by gunfire from Thai soldiers in Prey Chan village earlier this week.

The victims were first treated at the Cambodia-Japan Friendship Hospital in Mongkol Borei, Banteay Meanchey province, where surgeons performed life-saving operations. They were later transferred to Calmette Hospital in Phnom Penh for further care.

Hun Manet praised local authorities and security forces for their swift response, crediting them with rescuing and transporting the injured for urgent medical treatment.

He also thanked doctors and staff at the Cambodia-Japan Friendship Hospital for their successful surgeries and wished the patients a full recovery.

The prime minister offered condolences to the family of Dy Nai, who was killed in the incident. “May his soul rest in peace,” he said.

Reaffirming Cambodia’s commitment to peaceful conflict resolution, Hun Manet warned against the use of violence. “Solving problems through violence or the use of armed force does not yield any benefits, does not create positive conditions for problem-solving, and poses risks to the lives and property of innocent civilians,” he said.
