Cambodia Reaffirms Peaceful Stance at Non-Aligned Movement Meeting

KAMPALA, Uganda (Oct. 16, 2025) — Cambodia reaffirmed its commitment to peaceful conflict resolution and international law during the 19th Ministerial Meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement, held Oct. 13–16 in Kampala under the theme “Deepening Cooperation for Shared Global Affluence.”

Secretary of State Kan Pharidh represented Cambodia at the meeting on behalf of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn. In his statement, Pharidh reiterated Cambodia’s support for the movement’s core principles, including respect for sovereignty, territorial integrity, non-interference in internal affairs and peaceful dispute resolution.

Addressing the Cambodia-Thailand border issue, Pharidh said Cambodia remains committed to a peaceful approach grounded in international law and multilateral frameworks.

“Cambodia seeks a fair, just, impartial and rule-based solution, one that ensures long-lasting peace and stability between the two nations,” he said.
Cambodia’s participation underscored its active role in promoting multilateralism and the principles of the United Nations Charter.

Founded during the Cold War, the Non-Aligned Movement includes 120 member states that advocate for neutrality and cooperation among developing nations. The Kampala meeting brought together high-level delegations to discuss global development, peace and South-South cooperation.
