Cambodia, Dominica Pledge to Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation
PHNOM PENH, Cambodia (Oct. 9, 2025) — Cambodia and the Commonwealth of Dominica have agreed to deepen bilateral ties and expand cooperation across a range of sectors, following high-level talks between the countries’ leaders in Phnom Penh.

Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet hosted Dominican Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit and his delegation at the Peace Palace on Tuesday morning, marking Skerrit’s first official visit to Cambodia — a historic milestone for both nations.
The meeting coincided with the 15th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Cambodia and Dominica. Hun Manet called the visit an “important milestone” in the countries’ growing friendship and partnership.
Skerrit expressed appreciation for Cambodia’s hospitality and praised the country’s development progress. He voiced confidence in Cambodia’s continued growth under Hun Manet’s leadership.
During the talks, both sides welcomed the signing of a memorandum of understanding on the establishment of bilateral consultations between their respective foreign ministries. The agreement outlines a framework for structured dialogue and collaboration to be held every two years.
The consultation mechanism will cover a broad range of areas, including politics and diplomacy; economy, trade and investment; agriculture and tourism; education, training and research; cultural exchange and environmental cooperation; and consular affairs and security.
The leaders also discussed broader cooperation in regional and global contexts, as well as ways to enhance people-to-people exchanges.
Samdech ThipadeiHun Manet briefed Skerrit on the Cambodia-Thailand border situation, reiterating Phnom Penh’s commitment to resolving disputes peacefully through bilateral mechanisms, existing treaties and international law.

Skerrit voiced support for Cambodia’s approach to managing the issue through dialogue and peaceful means.
Following their meeting, the two leaders presided over the official memorandum exchange ceremony, reinforcing their shared commitment to enhanced cooperation and diplomatic engagement.
The visit is expected to lay the groundwork for expanded collaboration between the two nations in both bilateral and multilateral settings.
