Cambodia Earns Over $400 Million from Bicycle Exports in First Eight Months of 2025
PHNOM PENH, Cambodia (Oct.01, 2025) — Cambodia generated approximately $408.5 million from bicycle and e-bike exports during the first eight months of 2025, marking a nearly 46% increase compared to the $279 million earned during the same period last year, according to the General Department of Customs and Excise.

Officials from the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology, and Innovation (MISTI) have previously identified bicycle manufacturing as one of Cambodia’s most promising export sectors, particularly to European markets. Before 2020, China was the leading exporter of bicycles to Europe, followed by Taiwan. However, since 2020, Cambodia has become the top supplier, accounting for 24% of total EU imports, ahead of China at 17% and Taiwan at 11%.
Hong Vannak, an economic researcher at the Royal Academy of Cambodia, said Cambodian-made bicycles are gaining traction due to their quality and competitive pricing, which align with growing demand in Europe’s cycling-friendly markets.

Key export destinations include the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom, Japan, China, ASEAN countries, Belgium, the Netherlands, Austria, Sweden, Denmark, Australia, the Czech Republic, Italy, Colombia, South Korea, Spain, Slovenia, and Canada.
Currently, five companies operate bicycle assembly lines for export, including Evergrand Bicycle, Speedtech Industrial, Smart Tech, A and J, and XDS Bicycle. In April 2024, Lingrich Bicycle received approval to construct a $7.2 million factory in the Tai Seng Bavet Special Economic Zone, Svay Rieng Province.
