CDC commits to facilitate and enhance South Korea’s business in Cambodia
PHNOM PENH, April 7, 2026 (KPT) – The Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) has pledged to provide greater flexibility and support for Korean businesses, aiming to resolve priority issues and strengthen investment ties, officials said Wednesday.
Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol, First Vice Chairman of CDC, and South Korean Ambassador Kim Changyong co-chaired the third Cambodia–Republic of Korea Public-Private Sector Dialogue. Senior officials from ministries, the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), and representatives of Korean business associations also attended.

Chanthol reaffirmed Cambodia’s recognition of the private sector as the engine of economic growth, stressing that the dialogue serves as a working mechanism to deliver practical solutions for investors.
Changyong said the forum provided a valuable opportunity for candid discussions on challenges, and praised Cambodia’s efforts to curb online scams, which he described as vital for economic and digital security.
Both sides agreed to maintain close cooperation and flexibility amid regional uncertainties, underscoring their commitment to elevate Cambodia–Korea economic relations and attract greater investment flows in line with the government’s Pentagonal Strategy.
