Kingdom’s Trade With RCEP Partners Surges 64% in Q1
PHNOM PENH, April 24, 2026 (KPT) — Cambodia’s trade with members of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) reached US$11.26 billion in the first quarter of 2026, up 64 percent from the same period a year earlier, the Ministry of Commerce said Friday.

From January to March, Cambodia exported goods worth US$2.82 billion to the bloc’s five leading partners — Vietnam, China, Japan, Thailand and Singapore — a 4.22 percent increase. Imports from RCEP members totaled US$8.44 billion, rising 24.24 percent.
Commerce Minister Cham Nimul said Cambodia’s export growth is supported by free trade agreements, RCEP membership, expansion into new markets and stronger trust among trading partners. Lim Heng, vice president of the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce, noted that trade ties with Asian partners continue to improve year on year.

RCEP, initiated by ASEAN, is the world’s largest free trade agreement, covering 15 countries including the 10 ASEAN members plus Australia, China, Japan, New Zealand and South Korea.
According to the ministry, Cambodia’s trade with RCEP partners totaled US$40.23 billion in 2025, up 16.26 percent from 2024.
