PHNOM PENH, May 18, 2026 (KPT) — Cambodia’s investment authority has voiced support for RMA Automotive (Cambodia)’s expansion plans as the country’s automotive sector continues to diversify and gain momentum.

Chea Vuthy, Secretary General of the Cambodian Investment Board under the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), met with RMA Cambodia CEO Ngorn Saing to review the company’s ongoing and future projects.

Saing briefed officials on progress at its vehicle assembly plant and outlined new investments, including an automotive parts manufacturing facility and ventures in food processing.

Vuthy welcomed the company’s continued investment, stressing that expansion would contribute to socio‑economic development and create more jobs for local workers.

RMA has emerged as a key automotive investor, playing a pioneering role in developing industry standards. Since 2022, the firm has assembled around 16,000 Ford vehicles in Cambodia and is expanding its operational site from five hectares to 12. It has also begun local production of automotive components, starting with vehicle seats, marking another step toward strengthening domestic manufacturing capacity.

RMA Cambodia, a subsidiary of multinational RMA Group, has operated in the country since 1992 across sectors including automotive, heavy equipment, machinery and financial services.
