RMA, European Partner Launch Feasibility Study on Cambodia’s Water Transport
PHNOM PENH, May 19, 2026 (KPT) — RMA Cambodia and a leading European specialist in water transport manufacturing have begun a comprehensive feasibility study to assess investment opportunities in Cambodia’s waterways and maritime sector, officials said Tuesday.
Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol, First Vice Chairman of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), met RMA CEO Ngorn Saing and the partner company’s delegation to discuss the project and Cambodia’s investment climate.

The European firm, recognizing Cambodia’s strategic potential, intends to evaluate prospects for water transport manufacturing and infrastructure expansion.
Chanthol reaffirmed the government’s full support and pledged close coordination throughout the study. He said the initiative reflects investor confidence in Cambodia’s favorable environment and aligns with national priorities to modernize transport and logistics.
To aid the study, Chanthol briefed the delegation on key indicators, including inland waterway capacity, maritime transport capabilities, deep‑sea port expansion plans, and the ongoing Funan Techo Canal project. He also highlighted incentives under the Law on Investment of the Kingdom of Cambodia, which offers strong benefits for private sector participation.
The government will ensure ministries provide data and cooperation to help RMA and its partner advance the study and strengthen Cambodia’s water transport sector.
