Cambodia Marks 90th Birthday of Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk

PHNOM PENH, June 18, 2026 (KPT) — Cambodia is celebrating the 90th birthday of Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk, with government leaders, civil servants, diplomats and citizens expressing messages of congratulations and respect.
Widely regarded as a symbol of national unity, the Queen Mother enters her 91st year as tributes highlight her decades of service to the nation.
Prime Minister Hun Manet conveyed “heartfelt congratulations and best wishes” on behalf of the Royal Government, the armed forces and civil servants nationwide, together with his spouse.
He wished Her Majesty continued health, longevity and strength, describing her as a source of inspiration and comfort for the Cambodian people.
The premier praised her long‑standing public service, noting her roles as Honorary President of the Cambodian Red Cross, the Cambodian National Council for Women and the Girl Guides Association of Cambodia.
He emphasized her contributions to humanitarian work, healthcare, education, culture, social welfare and the promotion of women’s and girls’ empowerment, as well as her support for Buddhist and charitable causes.
The statement also acknowledged her concern for soldiers, displaced people and citizens across the country.
Hun Manet concluded by offering prayers for her wellbeing and prosperity, extending the “highest expressions of respect, loyalty and devotion” to the Queen Mother.
