CDC Reviews $423 Million in Investment Proposals, Eyes 5,000 New Jobs
PHNOM PENH, Feb. 11, 2026 (KPT) — The Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), through its Cambodian Investment Board, convened a One-Stop Service meeting Tuesday to review nine qualified investment project applications worth a combined $423 million.
Chaired by Chea Vuthy, Secretary-General of the Cambodian Investment Board, the session examined proposals expected to generate about 5,000 jobs across multiple sectors and provinces.

Seven projects fall within the industrial sector, including electronics and electrical equipment assembly, lighting device production, garment hanger manufacturing, festive decoration and souvenir production, dyeing operations, motorcycle assembly, and plywood and paper production. Officials said the projects highlight continued diversification in light manufacturing and value-added processing.
In tourism, one proposal involves the construction and operation of a five-star hotel with 1,341 rooms, underscoring investor confidence in Cambodia’s hospitality and long-stay accommodation capacity.
Another project in agriculture and agro-industry focuses on mushroom spawn farms, cultivation of various mushroom varieties, and packaging for market distribution, supporting agro-processing and rural value chains.
The proposed investments are spread across Phnom Penh, Takeo, Kampong Speu, Kampong Chhnang, and Svay Rieng provinces, reflecting a geographic spread beyond the capital.
The reviews come as Cambodia approved more than $752 million in new investments in January, with major projects in renewable energy and Special Economic Zone (SEZ) expansion, official data showed Tuesday.
The CDC cleared 43 projects worth a combined $752 million, expected to generate around 26,000 jobs, including 35 projects outside SEZs and eight within them.
