PHNOM PENH, January 30, 2026 (KPT) – Cambodia’s exports to the United States rose 28 percent in 2025 to US$12.7 billion, with strong U.S. demand helping cushion the economy during a year marked by regional tensions and disruption from the Thai invasion, according to the American Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia.

AmCham president Casey Barnett said the U.S. market remained a reliable foundation for Cambodian growth, reinforcing a trade relationship that has spanned more than 26 years.

Traditional exports continued to dominate, with apparel generating US$4.32 billion, up 31 percent, bags and travel goods US$1.58 billion, up 6 percent, and furniture and bedding US$1.46 billion, up 34 percent.

But nontraditional sectors also expanded sharply. Footwear exports rose 52 percent to US$869 million, tire exports climbed 45 percent to US$1.1 billion, toys jumped 149 percent to US$615 million, and steel and aluminum goods increased 135 percent to US$264 million.

Electrical equipment exports fell 29 percent to US$722 million, largely due to the halt in solar panel shipments following U.S. penalties linked to transshipment from China.

The resilience of trade flows underscored the depth of Cambodia’s commercial ties with the U.S. Attention now turns to a reciprocal trade agreement signed in October 2025, awaiting ratification by the National Assembly.
