MANILA, Philippines (Nov. 25, 2025) — The Asian Development Bank has appointed Yasmin Siddiqi as country director for Cambodia, bringing more than 26 years of experience in agriculture, water and rural development, including 16 years with ADB.

Siddiqi will lead ADB’s operations in Cambodia and oversee implementation of the country partnership strategy for 2024–2028, which aligns with the first phase of Cambodia’s Pentagonal Strategy. She will also strengthen collaboration with the government, development partners and other stakeholders to support Cambodia’s goal of achieving high-income status in the decades ahead.

“I am honored to take on this role and look forward to working closely with the Government of Cambodia and our development partners to accelerate Cambodia’s economic and social development,” Siddiqi said. “ADB remains strongly committed to backing Cambodia’s priorities, particularly in expanding climate-resilient infrastructure, fostering private sector-led diversification and improving access to education, healthcare and clean water.”

Before her appointment, Siddiqi served as director of ADB’s Agriculture, Food, Nature and Rural Development Sector for Central, West and South Asia, where she led complex loan and technical assistance projects.

A U.K. national, Siddiqi holds a master’s degree in irrigation engineering from the University of Southampton and is a chartered civil engineer. She has been recognized for advancing climate-resilient initiatives and advocating for the empowerment of women and girls.
