Cambodia Approves $608 Million in Investment Projects in August
PHNOM PENH, Cambodia (Sept.06,2025) — The Council for the Development of Cambodia approved 51 investment projects in August totaling approximately $608 million, the agency said. The projects are expected to create about 27,000 jobs across the country.

Of the 51 projects, 35 are located outside special economic zones, while 16 are within them. Kampong Speu province received the highest number of approvals with 13 projects, followed by Svay Rieng with 11, Takeo with seven and Preah Sihanouk with three.
The investments span sectors including manufacturing, infrastructure and tourism.
From January through August, the CDC approved 491 investment projects worth roughly $7.2 billion. That marks an increase of 204 projects, or 71%, and a $2.5 billion rise in capital investment, or about 50%, compared to the same period in 2024.
