Minebea Opens Second Factory in Pursat, Expanding Beyond Phnom Penh
PURSAT, Cambodia (Dec. 11, 2025) — Minebea (Cambodia) Co., Ltd. has opened its second factory in Cambodia, a $38.5 million investment in Pursat province that marks the company’s first plant outside the capital.

The new facility, located in Pursat’s first Special Economic Zone, spans 50 hectares and is expected to create about 8,000 jobs once fully operational. Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol, first vice chairman of the Council for the Development of Cambodia, presided over the inauguration ceremony, joined by senior government officials, Minebea executives, provincial leaders, and international guests.
The Pursat factory builds on Minebea’s success in the Phnom Penh Special Economic Zone, where the company established its first Cambodian plant in 2011. That facility became one of the zone’s largest employers, producing precision motors and electronic components for global markets while providing thousands of jobs and training programs that strengthened Cambodia’s industrial workforce.

Sun Chanthol said Minebea’s expansion reflects investor confidence in the Royal Government’s leadership and will attract further investment, including supplier companies and related industries. He noted Pursat’s renewable energy potential and Minebea’s plan to build a solar farm, aligning with global environmental standards and enhancing the company’s business profile.
The deputy prime minister highlighted Cambodia’s recent achievements under Prime Minister Hun Manet, including peace and stability, improved investment climate, and the landmark Reciprocal Trade Agreement with the United States. He projected CDC‑approved projects will set new records by year’s end.
Chanthol praised Minebea’s role in job creation and skills development, calling its decade‑long presence in Cambodia a testament to investor trust. He urged civil servants and SEZ employees to uphold professionalism and responsibility to ensure the factory’s success and expansion.

Officials said Minebea’s expansion into Pursat will not only diversify Cambodia’s production base but also serve as a model for attracting more Japanese companies to invest in the country.
