Cambodia reviews $174 million in new investment projects
PHNOM PENH, Mar. 23, 2026 (KPT) — Cambodia is advancing fresh investment opportunities as the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) reviewed six projects worth more than $174 million, expected to generate around 3,500 jobs nationwide, officials said Monday.
The CDC’s Investment Committee met on March 20 under Secretary General Chea Vuthy, with ministries and provincial authorities taking part.

The projects span six provinces — Svay Rieng, Battambang, Takeo, Pursat, Kandal and Kampong Speu — and cover industry, agriculture and infrastructure. Four industrial ventures include production of festive ornaments, chalk and plastic materials, automobile assembly, and manufacturing of toys, bags and printed products.
Another project focuses on a Pailin longan plantation and processing facility, while the infrastructure plan involves a 50 megawatt biomass power plant and a 40 megawatt solar plant.
The proposed investments reflect Cambodia’s push to diversify its economy, attract foreign capital and promote sustainable growth in manufacturing, agro processing and renewable energy.
