PHNOM PENH, Mar. 27, 2026 (KPT) — Cambodia is stepping up engagement with European investors, pledging stronger post-investment support and unveiling plans for a promotional roadshow across Europe, senior officials said Thursday.

Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol told visiting EU envoy Igor Driesmans that Phnom Penh is committed to sustaining a business-friendly climate and addressing investor concerns through closer public-private dialogue.

Officials highlighted a new focus on “investment aftercare” — measures to help existing investors expand and overcome operational hurdles — as a complement to efforts to attract fresh capital.

As part of the initiative, the government will launch a “Business Breakfast” forum with the European Chamber of Commerce and other foreign chambers, creating a direct channel for companies to raise issues with policymakers.

EU representatives welcomed the move, citing Cambodia’s growing appeal as an emerging ASEAN hub and its role in the bloc’s Global Gateway strategy.

Looking ahead, Phnom Penh plans an investment roadshow in key European capitals to showcase political stability, macroeconomic resilience and incentives, while promoting high value-added sectors such as agro-industry, food processing, automotive and electronics.

European businesses “are increasingly exploring opportunities in Cambodia and keen to engage directly with government representatives,” officials said.

Both sides voiced confidence that deeper cooperation and targeted outreach will boost trade and draw a new wave of European investment, reinforcing Cambodia’s diversification drive and its integration into regional and global value chains.
