Hollywood Star Lily James Connects with Cambodian Students Ahead of Khmer New Year
SIEM REAP, April 6, 2026 (KPT) – British actress Lily James, best known for her role in Cinderella, brought smiles and inspiration to students during a visit to Hun Sen Rolous Secondary School in Siem Reap, as Cambodia prepares for the Khmer New Year, the Ministry of Education said Saturday.
James received a warm welcome from teachers, students, and local officials, reflecting the excitement surrounding her visit. She joined traditional Khmer games, creating a lively atmosphere filled with laughter and cultural exchange.

Her interaction underscored a genuine interest in education and youth engagement, uplifting students’ spirits while embracing Cambodia’s traditions. The timing of the visit added significance, coming just ahead of the country’s most important cultural celebration.
James’ trip follows a recent visit by fellow Hollywood star Angelina Jolie, who toured Samlout High School in Battambang and historic landmarks including the Prasat Meas Theatre. The appearances of high-profile figures highlight growing international attention on Cambodia’s education and cultural heritage, reinforcing its rising appeal on the global stage.
