Grab Pledges Expansion and Clean Energy Cooperation in Cambodia

PHNOM PENH, April 30, 2026 (KPT) — Grab Holdings has pledged to expand its services and support clean energy initiatives in Cambodia, as the Singapore based technology firm seeks to broaden its market presence and strengthen investment, officials said Wednesday.

Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol, First Vice Chairman of the Council for the Development of Cambodia, met Grab Group President and Chief Operating Officer Alex Hungate in Phnom Penh for talks on cooperation.

Chanthol welcomed the company’s commitment to ongoing investment, saying its modern services contribute to advancing Cambodia’s digital economy under Phase I of the Pentagonal Strategy.

Hungate briefed officials on Grab’s operations and said the company is exploring financing options for partners to enhance convenience and reach. He also expressed strong willingness to support Cambodia’s green initiatives, outlining practical measures to promote clean energy use in the transport sector.

Chanthol reaffirmed the Council’s readiness to facilitate Grab’s projects, stressing that cooperation will help drive digital transformation and sustainability in Cambodia’s economy.
