PHNOM PENH, June 25, 2026 (KPT) — The Ministry of Health of Cambodia will spotlight community‑based healthcare when Dr. Or Vandine, Secretary of State and ministry spokesperson, delivers a presentation titled “Beyond the Clinic Walls in Cambodian Communities” on the I‑Blooming channel at 5:00 p.m. on July 16, 2026.

In a video invitation, Vandine said improving public health requires more than expanding clinics, stressing the need to address cultural beliefs, social norms and public trust that shape healthcare‑seeking behavior. She noted that many people in Cambodia and across the region continue to face barriers such as misinformation, stigma and limited health literacy.

Vandine emphasized that community engagement and strengthening Village Health Support Groups are essential to achieving Cambodia’s goal of Universal Health Coverage by 2035 and implementing the Primary Healthcare Booster Implementation Framework. “By working beyond the clinic walls, we can empower individuals with the knowledge and support they need to improve their health, ensuring that no one is left behind,” she said.

The presentation will explore the role of community participation in improving health outcomes and advancing Cambodia’s people‑centered healthcare system.
