PHNOM PENH, July 1, 2026 (KPT) – Cambodia is stepping up its digital tourism promotion strategy by partnering with content creators and social media influencers to highlight authentic travel experiences, cultural heritage and community‑based tourism, officials said Tuesday.

The initiative was presented during a meeting between Tourism Minister Huot Hak and French‑Cambodian content creator Jeremie Alliance Piquard, widely known as Pu Barang, along with the production team behind the “Cambodia So Much Fun” program.

The team showcased the first season of the series, which promotes Cambodia’s tourism potential by featuring natural landscapes, rich traditions, local lifestyles and immersive travel experiences across diverse destinations. Piquard requested ministry support and pledged to produce high‑quality content portraying Cambodia as a peaceful, safe and welcoming destination.

Through social media and digital platforms, the program aims to introduce international audiences to Cambodia’s varied tourism offerings and unique communities.

Welcoming the initiative, Hak praised the team’s innovative storytelling, describing tourism as “Green Gold,” a phrase coined by Senate President Samdech Techo Hun Sen, and the “Backbone of the Economy,” as emphasized by Prime Minister Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet. He urged the producers to maintain high standards while showcasing Cambodia’s distinctive identity through stories of rice harvesting, palm sugar production and traditional festivals.

Hak said authentic storytelling would reinforce Cambodia’s position as a destination offering cultural and local experiences not easily found elsewhere. He also encouraged the team to support the “Visit Cambodia in the Green Season” campaign and strengthen cooperation with the ministry to expand the Kingdom’s visibility in global tourism markets.
