TOKYO, July 1, 2026 (KPT) – Cambodia’s ambassador to Japan has received a courtesy call from the president and chief executive of Taica Corporation, with both sides discussing investment cooperation and economic ties.

Chum Sounry met Taito Suzuki at the Royal Embassy of Cambodia in Tokyo on July 1, the embassy said.
The ambassador welcomed Suzuki and expressed appreciation for Taica’s presence in Cambodia since 2012, noting its role in investment, job creation and skills development.

He highlighted government efforts to improve the business climate and attract foreign capital, encouraging the company to expand its activities in the country.

Suzuki reaffirmed Taica’s confidence in Cambodia’s economic potential and said the firm remained committed to growing its operations. He outlined ongoing corporate social responsibility programmes, including support for education, youth initiatives, sports and cultural exchanges.

The embassy added that discussions also touched on Cambodia’s measures to combat online scams and transnational organised crime under government-led enforcement efforts.

Taica Corporation, a Japanese firm known for its industrial materials and technology solutions, has operated in Cambodia for more than a decade. Its investments have contributed to local employment and skills transfer, aligning with Cambodia’s push to attract diversified foreign investment.
