Cambodia–China Forum Stresses Grassroots Ties in ‘All‑Weather’ Partnership
PHNOM PENH, Cambodia (Dec. 16, 2025) — The Cambodia–China Friendship Exchange Forum opened in Phnom Penh this week, underscoring people‑to‑people diplomacy as the foundation of mutual trust and long‑term cooperation between the two nations.
Held under the theme “Silk Road Connecting People to People,” the forum drew about 300 participants from government, business, academia, youth groups and media from both countries. Organizers said the event aims to deepen cultural exchanges, promote youth engagement and expand collaboration among private enterprises and research institutions.

Deputy Prime Minister Hun Many and Chinese Ambassador Wang Wenbin presided over the opening ceremony, describing the forum as a key platform for reinforcing grassroots ties that underpin the “All‑Weather Cambodia–China Community with a Shared Future.”
Hun Many said the friendship continues to grow under the leadership of Prime Minister Hun Manet and President Xi Jinping, reaffirming both sides’ commitment to comprehensive strategic partnership and win‑win cooperation.
The three‑day forum, co‑organized by the Youth House for Cambodia–China Friendship and the China Foundation for Peace and Development, runs Dec. 14–16. Discussions focus on linking new and existing initiatives under frameworks such as the Diamond Cooperation Framework and the Fish and Rice Corridors.
