PURSAT, Cambodia (Nov. 24, 2025) — Thousands of households have been affected by flooding in Pursat province after days of heavy rain, prompting emergency measures across several districts, the National Committee for Disaster Management said.

According to the latest figures, flooding has impacted five districts, 6,308 households and more than 3,300 hectares of rice fields. Infrastructure damage has also been reported.

A report from the Provincial Disaster Management Secretariat said the floods had affected Pursat city, Phnom Kravanh, Kandieng, Bakan and Talau Senchey districts, covering 21 communes and 119 villages.

Further damage includes 4,200 houses, 362 livestock, nearly 85 kilometers of roads and several wooden bridges. Three of the damaged bridges have already been repaired.

Pursat provincial governor Khoy Rida said authorities in Pursat city suspended the movement of heavy vehicles after floodwaters from the Pursat River reached emergency levels.

He said the ban was intended to prevent further deterioration of weakened roads and reduce the risk of accidents. Truck owners were instructed to stop using all city roads immediately.

The city administration warned residents to take extra precautions, noting that a section of road in Rokar Por commune, Roka Por district, had collapsed and was completely submerged.
