PHNOM PENH, Cambodia (Nov.11.2025) — Cambodia and South Korea have pledged to deepen security cooperation, committing to closer collaboration on law enforcement, cybercrime prevention and public safety.

Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sar Sokha met with South Korean Foreign Minister Cho Hyun on Nov. 10 in Phnom Penh, where both officials praised growing “confidence and pragmatism” in bilateral security ties, according to Cambodia’s Ministry of Interior.

The ministers welcomed ongoing cooperation between law enforcement agencies, citing information-sharing and joint efforts to combat crimes affecting citizens in both countries and beyond.

Sar Sokha thanked Seoul for its support in maintaining security and social order in Cambodia. Cho expressed optimism that the partnership between the two ministries would continue to expand.

Following the meeting, the ministers co-chaired the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Cambodian National Police and the Korean National Police Agency.

The agreement establishes a Cambodia-Korea Joint Working Group for Korean Nationals, aimed at improving coordination on law enforcement issues involving Korean citizens in Cambodia.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to pursuing joint projects under the leadership of their respective governments.
