WASHINGTON, U.S. (Nov.07, 2025) — Cambodia and Pfizer are exploring opportunities to expand pharmaceutical cooperation and accelerate access to essential medicines, following a high-level meeting held Tuesday between Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol and senior executives from the global pharmaceutical company.

The talks focused on connecting Cambodia’s health sector with Pfizer’s advanced technologies and global standards. Pfizer expressed strong interest in Cambodia’s commitment to strengthening public health and signaled its willingness to work closely with the Council for the Development of Cambodia and relevant ministries to assess the potential for expanding business operations in the country.

Chanthol emphasized Cambodia’s readiness to facilitate faster and broader access to Pfizer products, especially in light of the recently signed Reciprocal Trade Agreement between Cambodia and the United States, which he said creates a more favorable environment for bilateral commerce.

He also invited Pfizer to consider investing in Cambodia’s healthcare, pharmaceutical production, and biotechnology sectors, noting that the country’s new investment law offers special incentives for these industries. Additionally, Chanthol encouraged Pfizer to support human resource development and knowledge transfer in pharmaceutical sciences to benefit Cambodian professionals and communities.

The meeting was part of Cambodia’s broader investment promotion mission in the United States.
