Cambodia India Military Exercise CINBAX II Begins to Boost Defence Cooperation

PHNOM PENH, May 6, 2026 (KPT) — Cambodia and India have launched the second edition of their bilateral military exercise, aimed at strengthening defence ties and improving operational coordination between the two countries.
The opening ceremony of Exercise CINBAX II was held Wednesday at the Techo Sen Phnom Thom Mreas Prov training centre in Kampong Speu province’s Samrong Tong district.
The event was presided over by Cambodian commander Oeun Saroeun and Indian counterpart Abhishek Arora.
Officials from both sides welcomed the continued expansion of military cooperation between the Royal Cambodian Army and the Indian Army, highlighting exchanges, training programmes and joint drills as key pillars of the partnership.
Running from May 3 to 18, the exercise includes command post simulations and field training activities designed to improve coordination and readiness.
Both sides said the drills reflect a shared commitment to strengthening mutual understanding and supporting regional and international peace and stability.
The first edition of CINBAX was held in India in 2024, focusing on counter terrorism operations. The second iteration, now hosted in Cambodia, underscores the growing scope of defence cooperation between the two countries.
